It’s not often that I venture to Newtown, but I like it. It’s almost as though anyone and everyone with an outward expression of themselves has converged in one place; clothing, quirks and colours – the lot.

As it turns out, our good friend Dale Bigeni, the triumphant victor of Secret Walls Sydney 2012  was celebrating the opening night of his display at  the Beach Burrito Company in Newtown. Friends, family and followers alike arrived at the Burrito Mecca for what was likely to be a night of good food, drinks and conversation.  Alas, I was the first person to arrive, and so with my laptop powered up, I stared out the window with a cool beverage by my side; comforting me as I began to feel the chilled vibe of the Beach Burrito Company venue. In this rare, quiet moment, I found myself pondering and observing myself. This was probably the most relaxing Monday I think I’ve ever had.

The smell of burritos and the slowly building sound of hustle and bustle teased my senses.
